Nottingham Forest boss Billy Davies denies interest in Newcastle United midfielder Danny Guthrie.
Reports suggested that Forest were poised to bring in the 23-year-old on loan as they push for promotion to the Premier League.
But Davies told the Nottingham Post: "I have made no attempt to sign Guthrie.
"He is a player who was on our list, when we were looking at possibilities. And he is a player who had been out of the picture at his club. But is he available? I don't know. Would he come here? I don't know."
