Nottingham Forest skipper Paul McKenna is out for the rest of the season after sustaining knee ligament damage earlier this month.

The 32-year-old is set to miss the club's six remaining Championship games as well as the play-offs if Forest are involved.

"He is finished. I don't think he'll make the play-offs, he is done," Billy Davies told the club's official website.

"I have known this was a massive blow since he got injured.

"The last player we could afford to lose this season was him. I think we could have afforded to lose any player in the side this season - apart from McKenna. That is why it is such a blow. You could see that on Monday against Newcastle, he would have pulled people around."
