Watford goalkeeper Costel Pantilimon is attracting fresh Championship interest.

Nottingham Forest will hope Aston Villa's financial situation could help them pip their Championship rivals to the signature of goalkeeper Pantilimon.

NottinghamLive report Forest are keen to bring the 31-year-old back to the City Ground after his successful loan spell from Watford in the second half of last season.

However, it has previously been reported Villa are also interested in the shot-stopper as a replacement for Sam Johnstone, who has been on loan at the club from Manchester United.

But the West Midlands side find themselves facing something of a cash crisis this summer - and that could affect their chances of signing Pantilimon.
