FOOTIE TWEETS: Spurs go silent as Arsenal players celebrate derby triumph

Aydin Reyhan reviews the reaction on Twitter from the players in the aftermath of Arsenal's derby victory over Tottenham.

"That's what I'm talking about!!! Great game, great result, that one was for the fans," Alex Oxlade Chamberlain wrote via Twitter, expressing his joy at the dazzling performance by his Arsenal over Tottenham in the London Derby.

Chamberlain was one of three Arsenal players that checked in with his faithful fans after a game that certainly lived up to its hype. Bacary Sagna and Mikel Arteta, who just joined Twitter earlier today, both revealed their happiness as well.

Sagna seemed satisfied after the win: "It feels so good to win the derby, and (of course, to get the) three points."

Arteta shared his delight with his very first tweet: "Hi everyone! I am on Twitter! (What an) amazing win (we had) yesterday on the big derby!"

Well, it seems fair enough to say this: The three Arsenal players that chimed in via Twitter after the win are all satisfied with the team's performance. They won by three goals so connecting with fans around the world was absolutely the right thing to do.

The Tottenham Hotspur players stayed quiet after the game. Pre-game tweets pumping themselves up to win and cause an upset at the Emirates was all they did. After the game, not a single Tottenham player decided to apologize to the fans via Twitter. Well, it must be pride or shame that stopped them from doing so.

Regardless, both sides played their game and in the end, the home side prevailed. Maybe the turning point was after Emmanuel Adebayor (Tottenham) was ejected for a rough tackle on Santi Cazorla (Arsenal) as the 1-0 lead slipped away after that. In the end, the game is over and the players all have to move on to next week's new challenge.
