Brad Davies takes a look at how football's great and good reacted to an amazing weekend of FA Cup shocks.
In a weekend of giant killings in the FA Cup that saw Norwich, Tottenham and Liverpool all fall victim to lower league opponents, Twitter went noticeably quiet, particularly on the red half of Merseyside.
"Come on boys. Lets get to the next round!!!!" said Daniel Agger
"Time to watch some Football before Sunday Dinner." said Michael Owen.
Sadly that was the last we heard from them on the matter. A 3-2 loss to league one side Oldham will obviously do that.
Robbie Fowler bravely ventured online, though mostly to express his disappointment with his old team: "Should never say this when a prem team plays a lower league side....But the best side won..."
Such was Fowlers frustration he even bit back on a colourful insult from an unfashionable heckler with a cheeky "do people still wear 3/4 length trousers..." tweet.
Gareth Bale showed his class when he popped up with a salute to the Spurs supporters who made the long trip to Elland Road, tweeting: "Thanks to all the fans who travelled up to Leeds today. Great support as always, even when we dont quite get the result."
Winners were grinners at Arsenal and City with the romance of the competition not lost on Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain who posted: "Some more cup upsets today! This is why everyone loves the #FAcup. Always nice to get a home tie in the draw as well...role on Blackburn!
Vincent Kompany tweeted his faith in his City team mates with: "On to the next round and a fifth consecutive clean sheet! I hope I won't be out for too long but the team seems to be strong as ever. #FACup"
The City captain also expressed his resolve to make it a speedy recovery saying: "Done with the highlights, time to go to bed now. Tomorrow is the day I start working myself back to full fitness! Hard work will pay off!"
Never short of an opinion, Joey Barton was clearly happy for the underdogs, chiming in with "Great to see the smaller clubs having decent cup runs. Money is always much needed and means a great deal when filtering down the pyramid."
Finally, let's not forget about those who've already been knocked out and have a bit of spare time to fill in on FA Cup weekends. Newcastle's Danny Simpson decided he'd take the opportunity to review the latest Tarantino flick for us: "Munched a Wagamamas n watched Django tonight.. Its seriously a mint film.. Jamie Foxx was ledge in it... #qualitynight."
