Footballers around the world have taken to 'Instagram' and 'Twitter' to show their support for Barcelona defender Dani Alves.
The Brazil international reacted spectacularly to a racist gesture by peeling and eating a banana that was thrown at him late in Sunday's clash with Villarreal at El Madrigal.
Alves' stunning response to the racial abuse went viral on social media and has also garnered plenty of support from teammates and friends worldwide.
Alves' actor girlfriend Thaissa Carvalho posted a couple of pictures. The first is of the Barca defender scoffing the banana before sending in a corner and the second is of family and friends backing him by eating one of their own.
Chelsea's Brazilian trio Oscar, David Luiz and Willian posted a video stating: 'We are happy, and we are all monkeys'
As Barca star Neymar got the #somostodosmacacos (We are all monkeys) campaign under way.
Manchester City's Sergio Aguero and Brazilian woman's star Marta chimed in.
