Blackpool forward Brett Ormerod believes the wages footballers earn these days is 'astronomical' and feels it needs to be capped.
Premier League clubs spent upwards of £480million on players in the summer transfer window and Ormerod believes that the expenditure is heading to a point where it may get out of control.
"I remember a couple of years ago, the experts were saying football was about to collapse because it couldn't sustain itself, but if anything it is going the other way," he told the Blackpool Gazette.
"Personally, I think it might have been better being capped and sorted out a long time ago. It just seems to have got worse.
"Some of the wages being bandied about are astronomical. I suppose it's just the way football is."
