Southampton defender Jose Fonte hailed the performance of Maya Yoshida for their 1-0 win over Hull City.
Fonte was full of praise for his fellow centre half, Yoshida, who helped keep Hull's front pairing of Nikica Jelavic and Shane Long quiet.
"I thought Maya was excellent," said Fonte of the Japan international, who has been deputising for the injured Dejan Lovren.
"Very, very good, very strong, good in the air - he was faultless, so great credit to him.
"Jelavic and Long are two of the best strikers in the Premier League in my opinion.
"They work very hard, they don't give you a second of rest, and tonight was the same.
"So it was a hard night for us, but I felt in general we dealt well with them."
