Caleb Folan has joined English Championship club Birmingham City on trial after his contract with Colorado Rapids ended at the end of the 2011 MLS season.
The 29-year old former Hull City striker spent one season with the Rapids, scoring six league goals in 26 appearances, and is available on a free transfer which appeals to Blues boss Chris Hughton.
"He's available. He's not under contract anywhere. I can remember him a couple of seasons ago at Hull being a real handful. He's used to this division so we're going to have a good look at him," said Hughton.
Folan kicked off his career with Leeds United in 2000 and has since played for the likes of Chesterfield, Wigan Athletic and Middlesbrough.
