Fluminense defender Thiago Silva passed his medical yesterday at AC Milan.

The Brazil international is set to sign terms with Milan this week ahead of completing his transfer when the market reopens on January 1.

Thiago took in Milan's thumping by Juventus on Sunday night and said: "We now must look forward.

"I cannot help on the field, just in training.

"I chose Milan because I wanted to play for a great club, thanks to the many Brazilians and the excellent relationship I have with manager Leonardo. This is why I chose the Rossonera."
