Watford boss Quique Sanchez Flores believes Troy Deeney deserves a chance with England after Wayne Rooney was ruled out for six weeks with a knee injury.
He said: "It's an amazing opportunity for our player, for Troy Deeney. He has this English spirit and he represents English players very well.
"I hope it will be perfect for the player, perfect for Watford and perfect for everyone. When you put one player from Watford in the national team, it is proof something is good.
"If we are able to put players in the national team, we are getting opportunities and targets because the team improves and the club improves.
"It means Watford are working well. It's one more reason to think things are happening at Watford in the right way."
