Adelaide United midfielder Marcos Flores has admitted that he will consider his future with the club when he returns to training soon. The Argentine playmaker, who won the Johnny Warren medal for best player in the A-League last season, has reportedly been offered a three-year deal by the Reds which is something he will look at in the near future.
Flores has been linked with a Hindmarsh Stadium departure in recent times but says he is in no hurry to decide what his prospects are.
"I will be coming to Adelaide next week for pre-season and one of the first things I will do is sit down with coach Rini Coolen and club officials to talk about my future face to face," Flores told The World Game.
"There is no hurry. We have four months to sort out a new deal so I'm very relaxed.
"I am not going to talk about money matters in public but all I can say is that I feel proud and honoured that my club is trying to renew my contract.
"Some stories about me were untrue and I don't want Adelaide fans to get the wrong impression from newspapers or the internet.
"The media will make me look like I'm big-headed if I knocked back the offer.
"And I don't want the fans to think that I believe I'm suddenly a Cristiano Ronaldo.
"I have a terrific relationship with Adelaide's supporters, especially the kids, and I don't want to ruin it by something I say.
"I might add that I would not mind being made Adelaide's marquee player one day."
