Barnsley assistant boss David Flitcroft has confirmed he has no interest in returning to Rochdale to become their new manager. Flitcroft served as assistant to Keith Hill at Spotland for five years before both men crossed the Pennines to take charge of Barnsley in the summer.
"We have shown in recent months what can be achieved in a small space of time, so the chance to build on this long term is an exciting one."
On the prospect of a Rochdale return, the 37-year-old added: "While it is always flattering to hear of interest in your services, that was always in Barnsley's hands and I am more than happy they wanted me to stay and continue in the work I am doing." "I am very happy at Barnsley and I am enjoying being a part of turning the club's fortunes around," Flitcroft told Sky Sports.
