Darren Fletcher is ready to take on a bigger leadership role at Manchester United.
With Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Gary Neville coming to the end of their careers, he knows it will soon be his responsibility to carry the torch for the next generation.
"They love the club," he says. "They are part of the history. Living legends. And they're not the selfish type who will want United to stop being successful just because they are no longer there.
"They've been in so many situations, such as winning the league and then not winning it. They know what you need to do to get it back. They know what it takes to fly back from a Champions League game and then have to play at Everton at noon on Saturday. Slowly but surely, the likes of myself, John O'Shea, Wes Brown and Wayne Rooney learn from that. It's a tough mantle for us to take over but you've got to aim for the stars."
