Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher says he never considered looking at a future away from Old Trafford, despite falling victim to Sir Alex Ferguson's rotation policy earlier this season.

The Scotland international has played fewer games than any of his midfield competitors at Old Trafford this season but the 24-year-old insists he has taken the patient approach to dealing with the matter of his stop-start involvement.

"I never thought about leaving this club, even when I wasn't playing regularly earlier in the season," Fletcher revealed in The Daily Star.

"You've got to treat those situations as a challenge and prove you have what it takes to win back your place."
