Darren Fletcher feels Manchester United can hold their heads high in defeat at Champions League opponents Bayern Munich.
Despite the loss, Fletcher felt United could take pride from a brave performance.
He told MUTV: "People were saying we're miles off [Bayern's level] but I don't think we are. It's small margins in big games and you've seen that tonight.
"They're the defending champions but we've got a lot of quality in our squad and we showed at times over the two legs that we can play at this level and compete."
