Fletcher happy to play lone role for Wolves

Steven Fletcher is prepared to play a lone striker's role in Wolves' survival push.

For the draw with Fulham, he produced an all-round forward display which earned him the sponsor's Man of the Match award, but revealed he is used to the lone frontman role having occupied it for Burnley in the top flight last season.

"I did it all season with Burnley so I'm used to it," he told the Wolves website. "I haven't had the opportunity to play up front on my own here before now because Kevin Doyle is great at it, so I couldn't really complain.

"But I told myself that when I got my chance I had to take it. I just want to keep playing and doing what I do and hopefully we'll get the rewards.

"People know I like to score goals and I've been working on getting up for headers like that in training. Terry Connor is always setting up little drills for us and I've been working on it and it's paid off.

"Hopefully I can get to double figures because if I do, that should keep us in the Premier League."
