Darren Fletcher is enjoying his leadership role with Manchester United.
The Scot has enjoyed an outstanding Champions Cup campaign.
When asked about how he feels about his status in the squad, the Scot smiled and said: "I'm glad you used the word 'experienced' and not 'old'! I don't mind being experienced. You find yourself in that role naturally, in a position where you have to help the younger players. It's something I do anyway and have done for a while now."
Having been a part of the Reds' senior set-up since his teens, Fletcher is well placed to show the current crop of youngsters how to live up to the expectations that come with representing the club.
"I know what's expected and what it takes to play for Manchester United, so I try to make the younger players aware of a few things and the standards you have to reach. But I also encourage them to enjoy it and express themselves. The biggest thing in my mind is to make sure you enjoy the challenge and not get daunted by it."
