Fletcher happy he stayed with Man Utd

Darren Fletcher is pleased he chose to stay with Manchester United this season.

"You sometimes think about moving when you haven't been getting a game," said the Scotland midfielder. "However, as long as you feel wanted you stay with a club as big as this one.

"This is a great place to be and I've done my bit in recent seasons. hope there is still much more to come from me. I don't want to be anywhere else. And until someone tells me I don't need to be here I won't leave.

"It was good to sign a new contract. I've played a number of games this season and you always want to be involved with the first team as much as you can.

"Last season I didn't play as often as I would have liked. I was injured a couple of times and picked up a knock playing for Scotland that kept me out.

"This season I've had the rub of the green because others have been getting injured and I'm enjoying myself in the team. I know I'm not going to play in every game. The manager has great options in his squad and there will be times I will sit matches out.

"But he is also pretty fair and if you've been doing well he tends to stick with you. However, when there is a player like Paul Scholes - who I think is still the best midfielder in Britain - you can't argue if he plays.

"And we also have Owen Hargreaves, Michael Carrick and Anderson available.

"The competition is frightening and you can only do your best to stay in the team. That has always been my outlook and it will never change.

"If I think otherwise then I will not get anywhere near the first team at United."
