Steven Fletcher says Sunderland fans can be excited about the youngsters coming through.
Fletcher says the fact that players such as George Honeyman and Duncan Watmore have impressed, is a good sign for the future.
"The transfer window is open for a lot longer yet," said the Scotland striker to the Evening Chronicle.
"There's plenty of time for the gaffer to do what he can do.
"But some of the younger lads have really shown what they can do so far.
"There's young players here who've not really had a chance yet who have been doing well.
"There's players who are here for the future."
