Darren Fletcher credits his success with Manchester United with a newfound selfish streak.
After giving Fletcher a rough ride in his early career, Reds fans recognise he is the real deal.
He said: "Maybe I am being a bit more selfish these days and that's the reason I get forward more.
"I play alongside Scholesy and he was a master of getting into the box on the end of chances.
"Now he controls games from a deeper position, which gives me licence to get forward and make those runs.
"I think it is just about maturing as a player and knowing what team-mates are around you on the pitch so there can be chances for me to get forward in certain games."
