Darren Fletcher is prepared to be patient and wait for his chance at Manchester United.

"If you look back on last season, I played 40 games, which surprised me. The previous season I played 30-odd and that has tended to be the figure, even with a few injuries," Fletcher said. "This season hasn't seemed the same but things picked up in the second half of last season and that is a reflection of my career at United.

"Every season new players have come in, I have had to be patient and then my chance has come and I've always seemed to grasp it. I hope it is the same again and I am playing in the Champions League quarter-finals and semi-finals like I did last season. I have started three FA Cup finals, so that just shows how I push towards the end of the season."
