Sunderland striker Steven Fletcher expects quality signings to arrive this summer.

Owner Ellis Short recognises the need to invest in the squad and he was able to offer Dick Advocaat the assurances needed to convince him to extend his stay.

Fletcher agrees, saying: "I don't think it is quantity because we have a big squad. It is like the manager said, we just need to add a bit of quality to the squad.

"The sooner we can do it the better."
