Steven Fletcher is expected to be fit for preseason at Sunderland.

The Evening Chronicle says Fletcher remains on course to play a part in the Black Cats' pre-season preparations after visiting a specialist to check on the progress of his recovery from ankle ligament surgery.

Sunderland boss Paolo di Canio has made no secret he is counting on Fletcher next season.
