Brazilian club Flamengo are on the verge of signing Andre Santos from Arsenal.
The 30-year old left-back joined the Gunners from Turkish side Fenerbahce in August 2011 but after a string of mediocre defensive performances, was sent on loan to Gremio in February this year.
Santos has not returned to London since and is now expected to sign a permanent deal with Flamengo until 2015 according to reports in Brazil.
"The Arsenal document we were waiting has come," Flamengo's director of football Paulo Pelaipe told UOL.
"Everything is agreed between the player and the club. We are just waiting for the document that authorises the transfer to announce him, it should come by Friday.
"Andre Santos is already at the club's hotel for the medical."
