Fitness has led to consistency - Tottenham's Lennon

Tottenham winger Aaron Lennon is in career-best form after another man of the match performance, this time in the 3-0 win over Manchester City. The 22-year old former Leeds United man was a handful for City defenders as he stormed the right flank creating many chances for his teammates to continue his impressive form so far this campaign.

Lennon puts his newfound consistency down to the fact he is at peak fitness along with the overall form of the team as a whole.

"Throughout the season, it's been my most consistent season and I hope it continues," the England international said after the match.

When asked the reason for his form, Lennon said: "Fitness. And also the team's playing well. It's the best squad we've had and from the start of the year we've played great football and that's helping me as well."

Lennon said the pressure was now on Spurs to keep up their good form which has seen them take fifth place on the Premier League table.

"Villa are doing well, Man City are not far behind us... so we had to keep up the pressure," he added.
