Fabio Vignaroli is still in doubt for tonight's Asian Champions League clash between Newcastle Jets and Nagoya Grampus.
The Italian import is struggling with a hamstring injury and Newcastle Jets coach Gary van Egmond will not be anything stupid to risk further damage to the playmaker.
"If there's any doubt about his [Vignaroli's] fitness, we're not going to risk him," van Egmond said.
"We've got a number of players who could take his position such as Brodie Mooy, Jobe Wheelhouse, Kaz [Patafta] or Marko Jesic, so we'll be covered if he doesn't come up.
van Egmond also commented on key defender Adam Griffiths who is also recovering from a hamstring problem.
"He's probably a 50-50 chance to start but Adam has improved in the past few days and his chances of playing are a lot stronger," he added.
