Tottenham finally got their first win of the season in front of new boss Harry Redknapp but still remain bottom of the pile. Roman Pavlyuchenko and Darren Bent grabbed the goals at White Hart Lane as Spurs defeated ten man Bolton 2-0.
"I thought while I'm here let's have a go," Redknapp told Sky Sports. "We haven't got time to sit around.
"I just said you're good players. You've obviously not been performing to be in the position you're in. To get two points means you've not been playing well.
"Go out and play and let's pass the ball well. We did that well and three points today was the key thing. If you don't do that today, the rest of the week looks very hard.
"I learnt an awful lot but I know them all anyway. Modric - what a footballer, you can give him the ball anywhere and he will receive it.
"People might look at him and not want to give it to him as he's got people around him, but he likes that.
"He gets in the right areas and is a fantastic footballer. David Bentley too showed fantastic quality for the goal.
"Top class, it was Beckham - well Bentley - but it was top, top class."
