First goal in major final delights Chelsea captain Terry

John Terry was in a vibrant mood after delivering for Chelsea in the Capital One Cup final on the weekend.

The Blues captain scored the opening goal in his side's eventual 2-0 win over Tottenham at Wembley and was visibly pleased to hit the back of the net before holding aloft the clubs first piece of silverware under Jose Mourinho's second regime.

"I loved playing in a big final at Wembley, and on a personal level it was nice to get my first goal in a major final," he said.

"More importantly, it was crucial to get our first trophy together. I said before about this being a springboard, like it was when the manager came in first in 2004/05. It had that affect then because we went on to win the League, and hopefully it does now.

"I have been in good form, but it helps to have a great squad around me. I honestly could not do it without the lads."
