Fiorentina coach Cesare Prandelli has defended the decision to sell Giampaolo Pazzini to high-flying Sampdoria.
"We know his quality, but he needed an environment that was different from Florence," noted Prandelli.
"He was not right for Fiorentina and maybe the fact he was a fan of this club affected him more deeply than he realised.
"As for Samp, perhaps nobody in Serie A is as decisive as [Antonio] Cassano. However, I respect Marcello Lippi and do not want to judge his decision to cut the player from the Italy squad. I'd never dare give pointers to a World Cup winner."
