Fiorentina striker Adrian Mutu has reportedly quit international football.

Libertatea says Mutu was furious with coach Victor Piturca's assertion that Romania would still have lost 3-0 to Lithuania had the ex-Chelsea man been able to play.

"I haven't heard anything yet," Piturca said. "Mutu hasn't told the Romanian Football Federation and I'm very surprised to hear of this decision."
