A courageous Fiorentina outfit have been knocked out the Champions League by German giants Bayern Munich.
Following the first leg in Munich which ended 2-1 to the home side, Viola came out firing and led 2-0 on the night (3-2 on aggregate) in the 54th minute of the clash at the Stadio Artemio Franchi in Florence after Juan Vargas and Stevan Jovetic scored.
But the Germans hit back right on the hour-mark thanks to Mark van Bommel to completely tie up the two-legged series before Jovetic grabbed his second and again restored both the lead on the night, 3-2, and the overall lead, 4-3, to the Italians.
Enter Arjen Robben, who just a minute later, struck Bayern's second away goal, giving them the advantage and eventually putting them through to the quarter-finals.
