Fiorentina want Chelsea player on loan after Salah debacle

Fiorentina are insisting Chelsea loan them a player for the coming Serie A season, following the unexpected departure of Mohamed Salah.

The Blues sent Salah to the Stadio Artemio Franchi on an 18-month loan deal in January, but the Egyptian international walked out on La Viola just six months into the deal to pursue an opportunity with Inter Milan.

Fiorentina are said to have paid £700,000 for Salah's services, and according to reports, the Italian club are now pushing to have Chelsea send them another player to honour the remaining duration of the deal.

"The rapport between Fiorentina and Chelsea is excellent," Fiorentina director general Andrea Rogg said.

"There has been some contact between clubs. Our position is open to a solution, without forgetting that we have more than one reason to feel we are right about this.

"We want to emerge from this situation in an amicable manner. Chelsea have many interesting players and this could be the route we go down."
