Fiorentina have blasted their fans after last week's unsavoury events.
After a shock 1-0 defeat last week, fans' protests at the Stadio Artemio Franchi turned violent as a group of ultras made their way to the players' changing room to reportedly demand an explanation from the footballers for their performance.
Almost a week on from the incident, club President Mario Cognigni has offered an official response to the incident.
"We are a club with strong values that needs the support of its fans, ones who have always distinguished themselves by their atmosphere.
"For the sceptics I would say just look at the balance sheets to see what it takes to run Fiorentina.
"In July, we pointed out that our team must above all else have a common bond between the city and the club.""We are here today to totally reject the gratuitous violence on Sunday after the match against Lecce. We can understand and accept any kind of criticism but we do not accept insults and threats.
