Fiorentina are threatening Genoa's bid for Banfield attacking midfielder Cristian Maidana.

Maidana is expected to move to Italy next month with Genoa offering £3 million to take possession of 60 per cent of the attacking midfielder's registration.

Fiorentina president Andrea Della Valle has also made contact with Maidana's sponsors this week.
