Fiorentina have joined the race for Espanyol winger Albert Riera.

Ajax have already had one offer for the ex-Manchester City midfielder rejected, but is set to return this week with an improved £6.5 million bid.

Fiorentina are also keen and are ready to pounce should Espanyol indicate they're prepared to sell.
