Fiorentina are offering Juan Manuel Vargas to Liverpool in part-exchange for Alberto Aquilani.
Liverpool have long been linked with a bid for Vargas, though it never quite materialised in the past.
Fiorentina have been told they must pay €9 million for Aquilani and would prefer a straight swap.
