Fiorentina sports director Pantaleo Corvino is chasing Atletico Madrid captain Maxi Rodriguez.
The Argentina international winger has been a target for Corvino since the 2006 World Cup and he is ready to make an offer at the end of this season.
The stumbling block, however, will be Maxi's Atletico wages, which far exceed Fiorentina's current wage ceiling.
