Fiorentina patron Diego Dalla Valle is confident Cesare Prandelli can handle the pressure of the Italy job.

Prandelli left Fiorentina earlier this month and agreed to replace Marcello Lippi as Coach of Italy after the World Cup.

Dalla Valle said: "I hope Prandelli knows how to handle the pressure that he'll find on Italy's bench.

"I imagine that with him La Nazionale will continue the path laid out by Lippi. I hope he gets to work calmly like in Florence.

"Let's remember that Italy are the holders. I am Italian and for me the flag is very important. Viva Italy, always.

"Prandelli is clever. He got the national team job because of his gifts, but also because behind him there was always a strong club and the Fiorentina fans whose support he never lacked."
