Fiorentina paid for individual errors, admits Prandelli

Fiorentina coach Cesare Prandelli admits they paid for individual errors after their 3-0 thumping by Champions League opponents Bayern Munich last night.

"We had a very tough start, but from the 10th minute onwards we started to play, show our courage and create some interesting chances," he said.

"We were missing a bit of sharpness in front of goal and a bit of luck, but we tried and were not humiliated by a side aiming to win the Champions League.

"Clearly there were mistakes and when those are made you get punished in this competition. Unfortunately we did not take advantage of their errors, too.

"We created the scoring opportunities and pushed forward with a positive attitude, but that can make it difficult to find a balance. We're trying and the only way to do that is to keep working."

Juan Vargas was in the starting XI to put pressure on Massimo Oddo, but instead his two mistakes handed Bayern the first two goals.

"Vargas is a good full-back, he just needs to work and improve both when defending and attacking, as he needs to push more.

"We got the feeling the first goal was slightly offside, but in any case that was our error, as we should have covered it better."
