Fiorentina owner Diego Della Valle says the renewal of coach Cesare Prandelli's deal will be a formality.

Prandelli has been widely praised for his achievements with the Viola and is being strongly linked with the Italy job, which is expected to become vacant after the World Cup next summer.

However, Della Valle says: "It's a formality.

"The players and the trainer are one big family and they will stay here for many other years."
