Fiorentina management are preparing to lose coach Cesare Prandelli.
Prandelli held talks with FIGC last week over the Italy job.
"We'll have to wait and see what happens," commented Fiorentina general manager Sandro Mencucci on Radio Blu.
"If Cesare is offered the job, then I feel it would be impossible to say no to. We would wish him the best of luck. The first contact with Federation President Giancarlo Abete came after the end of the season, not before.
"There has been a lot of talk about this matter, but now we must focus only on planning the future of Fiorentina.
"Up until last week we did it with Prandelli, but if he does leave then we don't want to make any wrong moves for next season.
"Fiorentina are a monarchical organisation. The only final decisions are made by the club owners."
