Fiorentina club manager Vincenzo Guerini is confident new coach Delio Rossi will prove a long-term appointment.
Rossi was named last week after Sinisa Mihajlovic was sacked following three wins, three draws and four defeats.
"It has been a troubled week in many respects with the negative emotion of having to say goodbye to an extraordinary person who the club appreciated very much," said Guerini.
"In his place has arrived a Coach whose CV speaks for itself and who was wanted strongly by the fans and the club. In just a few days, the mood of the whole city has been transformed.
"It really is incredible to see how much affection has been poured on to this man and the squad. I finally saw the Florence crowds that I knew from years ago. We absolutely need this warmth and support for the Coach.
"Rossi will certainly leave an important mark in terms of the football style and constructing a long-term project. Our objective is to bring in a Coach not for a few months, but to build something together that can entertain the fans."
