Fiorentina and Lazio have cooled talk of signing Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard.

Both clubs have previously expressed interest in the England veteran.

"Lampard is a really strong player, but he would not fit within the parameters of our club," Viola sporting director Daniele Prade said on Friday afternoon.

Meanwhile, Lazio chief Claudio Lotito announced: "We have players in that position who are already competitive."
