Fiorentina goalkeeper Marco Sportiello has urged Italian football to ease the pressure on AC Milan youngster Gigio Donnarumma.

The teen, after a fortnight of controversy, penned a new contract with Milan last week.

Sportiello commented: "I think an 18-year-old boy playing that way is an important thing and he deserves all this.

"He's in a big club which has given him great confidence and I'm happy for him because I know he's a great guy.

"I think about myself, everyone has their own way and career and I'm not thinking about anything else."
