Fiorentina have announced they intend to take legal action against their player Adrian Mutu. The Romanian striker, who is also being chased for compensation by Chelsea, is set to be dragged through the courts again by his angry employers.
Fiorentina said in a statement yesterday:
"The player Adrian Mutu today unilaterally and without any justification abandoned the training session.
"This sudden decision, which also provokes damage to Fiorentina on a sporting level means he cannot play against tomorrow's delicate away game at Bologna.
"His departure came after a meeting between the club and the player's representative during which we discussed his future.
"Such an act of insubordination and lack of respect towards the Fiorentina jersey and the team was only the latest in a series of similar incidents by the player Mutu.
"It forces Fiorentina to reserve the right to take any action in any arena, both Federal and Civil."
