Fiorentina want an answer from midfielder Riccardo Montolivo over their new contract offer.

The former captain's contract expires at the end of the season and he has repeatedly rejected a renewal, but negotiations have resumed.

"I will talk to him today and it's necessary we have absolute clarity," explained president Andrea Della Valle.

"I need a yes or no answer. I know he wants to renew, so we'll talk it over and in the next few days you'll know more."
