Fiorentina coach Prandelli embarrased over Italy link

Fiorentina coach Cesare Prandelli admits he's "embarrassed" over talk of him taking the Italy job.

Marcello Lippi is expected to step down after the 2010 World Cup, the race is on to find his successor and so far Prandelli is the most popular choice.

“I am only embarrassed by a situation like this. Lippi is on the bench and he will lead Italy into the World Cup,” said Prandelli.

FIGC president Giancarlo Abete has already declared they want a succession plan in place well before the 2010 World Cup kicks off.
