Fiorentina coach Paulo Sousa unhappy despite Coppa Italia win

Fiorentina coach Paulo Sousa was unhappy despite their Coppa Italia win over Chievo Verona.

The Viola failed to break down 10-man Chievo, then saw Mauro Zarate sent off too before a Federico Bernardeschi penalty in stoppages.

“Our second half performance was much better than the first, but our attitude and intensity must improve. We allowed Chievo counter-attacks even when they were a man down," said Sousa.

“We created the opportunities to score, but were unable to finish them off. I am happy with the result and that we managed to get the victory without another 30 minutes of football.

“In fact, we had to run more in the second half with an extra man than in the first, but at least it shows our legs are in good shape."
