Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Montella has welcomed the signing of Monterrey defender Jose Maria Basanta.

The Argentina international defender is still on his post-World Cup vacation.

Montella said: "Basanta only needs to undergo his medical.

"He is a very balanced and consistent player who will certainly be of use to Fiorentina."
